For over 200 years, RMBH Charities has been helping and supporting the needy in Israel. From sick patients in hospitals, to poor new mothers and needy brides, and children with special needs, RMBH Charities is a fountain of giving to those who need it most.

Supporting Lives, Building Generations

At RMBH Charities, we are continuing a mission that is over 200 years old. Since our founding in the 1700s, our goal has remained the same: to provide aid and support Israel’s poverty-stricken, the sick, and all those who are needy.

In the early years of our organization, we provided bread and medicine to families living in abject poverty, often suffering from epidemics such as malaria. Today, we continue to open our hearts and provide services to needy families, children with special needs, orphans, and to those in difficult circumstances. Just as it was when the organization was founded, there are always distinguished Rabbanim (rabbis) who are charged with allocating the funds raised.

The hundreds of thousands of people we have helped to date are all a powerful force in helping us to continue to accomplish our mission. Knowing that we have such a history to live up to spurs us to take our accomplishments to the next level, and keep bringing joy and hope in the place of sadness and despair.

Help Our Soldiers and Brothers in Israel During This Difficult Time

As Israeli soldiers fight to protect Israel from brutal Hamas terrorists, support RMBH Charities in their campaign for the chayalim. RMBH Charities provides emotional and practical support for soldiers and helps families who are suffering due to the war.

When giving just keeps on giving!

Their mission was clear. Their passion was there. And together we made a difference!

Our sincere appreciation goes to Family Rosen of Canton Massachusetts, moved by a deep sense of gratitude for the ongoing dedication and bravery of our soldiers, they initiated a massive Mishloach Manot campaign. Our volunteers went from base to base in the North and South to distribute custom handmade Mishloach Manot packages for our dear Chayalim with the funds raised by our dear friends and generous donors spurred into action by the Rosen family.

Our soldiers weren’t forgotten. We shared our joy on this holy Purim day. We celebrated their courage and brought new life and hope to so many of our brave fighters!

Where passion and mission meet!

An idea. An inspiration. That’s how it all started.

A steady donor with a fiery passion to help our suffering hostages, initiated a campaign of unity, charity and prayer. She worked closely with our devoted staff and raised close to $10,000 to benefit our war-stricken brethren in Israel. In addition to the funds she raised with the outpouring of love and support from her friends, family and warm Washington community, we then joined in a heartwarming zoom call to say the emotional prayer specifically to find the lost hostages. This memorable zoom call ended with a warm short speech by esteemed Rabbi Berko. All participants collectively said ‘Amen’ with loud powerful voices in unison as Rabbi Berko concluded the prayer with the ever so powerful phrase of ‘Eloka D’meir Aneinu” (G-d of Meir answer me.)

RMBH Charities came through again!

How can we say no to a desperate orphan? A fresh starry eyed Chassan with high hopes and big dreams for the future had his little perfect world collapse a short month after his engagement. His father tragically passed away and left a grieving widow and traumatized children, our young Chassan included.

RMBH was spurred into non-stop action to ensure that this Chassan will STILL have the wedding of his dreams with utmost sensitivity and respect despite the pain and agony his family is enduring. We provided full support for all wedding needs all thanks to our warm family of donors! Because family matters!

How can we help Israel’s victims that are no longer here? The only way we can help the deceased victims of October 7th is through bringing them merit in the next world. The 100,000 evacuated families from the South who are living in Plitim (evacuee) camps are feeling the hardship of being torn away from home without knowing when they’ll be able to go back.

RMBH organized a Kabbalat Shabbat Event at the Kfar Hamaccabi Plitim camp, gathering in one room for spirited, uplifted singing that brought us all together. The unity was a balm to every heart, in addition to the fresh food and basics that were provided.

We began our campaign of supporting the chayalim by renting a commercial kitchen near Gaza. This kitchen is in constant use, churning out fresh hot meals for the soldiers on the field. There’s a famous saying, “An army marches on its stomach,” and this was a great way to support, by feeding the IDF.

Military Motivation:

How You Can Help the Chayalim

The chayalim bravely defending Israel are doing so in difficult, unimaginable circumstances. For the first few weeks of the war, some of these soldiers didn’t eat any hot food for days on end. RMBH immediately galvanized to visit these soldiers, thinking how we can help the chayalim best.

We set up an epic barbecue with R’ Elyakim Levanon, Rosh Yeshivah of Ailon Moreh, providing a delicious meal and a huge dose of support all in one. It was a night of singing, dancing, and inspiration, something that will keep the soldiers going for a long time.

emotional support:

How You Can Help Israel’s Displaced Families

With fighting going on so close to their homes, hundreds of families living in the South of Israel have been displaced. Many of them traveled toward the center of the country where it is safer.

We have been sending volunteers to assist these families in every way. From volunteers who sit and speak to the traumatized children to finding out what kind of essentials they are missing, we have been focused on how we can help Israel’s displaced families at their greatest time of need. With your donation, you join our mission.

Visiting the Sick:

How You Can Help the IDF’s Wounded and Israel’s Sick

Some people have had their lives changed forever by October 7th and the ongoing war in Israel. The wounded and the families of the casualties of this war need our help just to keep going. RMBH representatives have been visiting hospitals, meeting many of Israel’s heroes and strengthening them.

Here’s a description of some of our hospital visits:

  • We visited a hospital where we met a soldier in the IDF. He’s a teenager from the South who was yearning to put on his uniform and join his unit in defending his home and country. But he can’t. His leg has been amputated.  RMBH volunteers spent time with this boy, bringing some joy into his hospital room.
  • In another hospital, we met a little boy drifting in and out of consciousness who lost his father in combat with the terrorists. This little boy’s life will never be the same again. RMBH volunteers infused love and warmth into the atmosphere around this boy, bringing him the love of all the Jewish nation.
  • RMBH brought music and joy to the mother of a hostage who was herself injured, holding her hand as she spends sleepless nights pining for her child.
With your donation, you join us in our mission as we focus on how we can help the IDF’s wounded and the people who are in hospitals because of the war.

Nichum Aveilim:

Support for the Victims of Israel

After October 7th’s terrible massacres, RMBH Charities swung into action with the goal of supporting Israel, starting by supporting the families of October 7th’s victims who were sitting shiva (Jewish custom for mourning the departed) in such heartrending circumstances.

RMBH Charities planned nichum aveilim visits (consolation for the mourners) carefully, putting thought into each visit so we could bring maximum support to where it was most needed. Every family has different sensitivities, and so we meticulously did research to find out when and how to schedule our visits.

We split up into groups to achieve our goal of reaching every grieving family sitting shiva across the country, regardless of location, type of loss, or family background.

Our delegates brought along fresh hot food for the families, to give an immediate boost of energy as we spoke words of consolation, emunah and bitachon. To bring merit for the departed, we lit candles in each shiva house, and learned Mishnayos in their memory.

In our unwavering commitment to the legacy of RMBH Charities, we humbly seek your continued support in our vital mission to uplift Israel’s most vulnerable families and individuals. Together, let’s carry forward this legacy of providing hope and support for Israel, making a meaningful difference in countless lives.
